How to make Dal Khichdi | Dal Khichdi LIVE from Restaurants Kitchen

Preparation Time:- 30 mins
Servings:- 1-2


INGREDIENTS:-
Tur dal 200 gm (washed and soaked)
Ghee 4 tbsp
Cumin seeds/jeera ¼ tsp
Curry leaves/kadi Patta 4-5
Green chillies (chopped) ½ tsp
Onion (chopped) 2 tbsp
Garlic (chopped) 1 tsp
Tomato (chopped) 2 tbsp
Water ½ cup
Salt as per taste
Rice (basmati) 300 gm 
Coriander leaves few
Coriander leaves (garnishing)


METHOD:
Step 1
Turn on flame and heat cooker
Add (500 ml water + 250 gm tur dal +  pinch of turmeric + 1 tsp oil)
Take 2 whistles on high flame and then switch off the flame (approx 10-15)
Let it cool, do not open before 15-20 mins
Open and check it
Keep aside.


Step 2:
Turn on flame and heat wok
Add ghee
Let it heat on high flame
Add cumin seeds, curry leaves, green chilli, chopped onion, garlic paste 
Roast it for 20 secs
Add chopped tomato
Cook for few mins
Add the cooked tur dal
Add water
Add salt, let it boil
Add cooked rice (you can also use leftover rice)
Mix it
Add chopped coriander leaves 
Mix  it
Garnish with coriander leaves 


Serve hot.
